The “Nesting Season” has settled in. Instinctively, birds everywhere are gathering twigs, moss, cotton, string–whatever will pad their nest with comfort. Us humans feel that same need in spring to make our homes a comfortable place. Windows are thrown open releasing the stale air of winter. Closets are cleaned and organized. Walls, windows, baseboards, blinds and everything that captures dust is scrubbed down.
Colors capture us, and we have a newfound fascination with paint swatches. We save magazine pages displaying new ways to redecorate our rooms or plant a garden resembling hues from a rainbow.
Within my heart, I am drawn to do some spring cleaning and nesting as well. To cast out the distractions and empty moments taking up residence there. Splash on a fresh coat of paint dipped in the hues of God’s word and make a comfortable place where Jesus can dwell and I can abide in Him.
“Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:4-5 NRSV

Friend, hello!!
Yes, I understand the need for spiritual *housecleaning*! I’ve got some dusty old corners that really need the Light to shine in there and clean them up. Praying for the Lord to make Himself even more at home in my heart.
GOD BLESS!

Hey Janis, such great words! Encouragement to me, and a realization that I may be quicker to clean my earthly dwelling than ask Him to cleanse my inward dwelling, inviting Jesus to commune with me afresh.
Love you my friend!
Janis Van Keuren says:
Oh, Elaine! Thank you for stopping by! I’m only two + months late in getting back to you. In the meantime, the Lord took us on a wonderful vacation that was spent with family, friends, and His magnificent creation in Niagara Falls. We have to catch up! Love you lots!
Blessings,
Janis
