Writing Heart Filled Moments

The Pleasure of Spring Flowers at the Market

t215421078

A gentle breeze rustled through my fine strands of hair as I hurried into the grocery store to pick up a cinnamon coffee cake for our classroom pod. The air felt cool against my face, a pleasure in itself for this time of year in the desert. Last week, the temperature hovered in the dry, warm 90s–a far cry from Spring.
With almost a jog in my step, I rushed toward the market when Spring, in all its floral glory, greeted me at the door. A riot of color invaded my senses and my eyes smiled at red geraniums, violet-dotted impatiens, hot pink petunias and yellow marguerite daisies. Their faces smiling back at me. The breeze again caressed my hair. In that moment I knew Spring had come with pleasure to the desert.

“You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” Psalm 16:11 NIV
